
Please Note:
Errors on the Indian visa application form CANNOT be amended. Any
error, however small, will result in the application being rejected by
the embassy. This will require a new application sent to A-1 passport
and will lead to delayed processing times. Errors and omissions cannot
be edited or fixed by A-1 Passport.
Application
forms should be printed on two SEPERATE piece pages. Applicants need to
sign the visa application in two spots. The applicant must sign INSIDE
the box located under the photo area on the first page. Any part of the
signature outside of the box WILL result in rejection. On the second
page the applicant must sign on the dotted line at the bottom.
Tourist Visa
- Original, signed U.S. passport
- must be valid for atleast 6 months containing at least 1 blank visa
page.
- 1 Fully completed and
signed Application form - All
Information Must Match Your Passport Entirely- Aslo your signature on
your application must match your passport.
- 2 Passport type photos -
Glasses should not be worn when taking the photos - Please Do Not
staple the photos to the application.
- A
clear copy of the applicant's birth certificate if born in the US. or a
copy of naturalization certificate for those who became a citizen in
the USA. Depending on the applicant's nationality the following items
are accepta
- Copy of marriage license only if your
passport shows your maiden name and you are applying for a visa under
your married name
- A clear photocopy of Driver's License or major
utility bill as proof of residence in the Embassy's area of
jurisdiction DC, DE, KY, MD, NC, SC, TN, VA, WV
- Proof of legal status in
the USA. i.e. copy of green card, copy of work visa etc...
- Completed Order Form (please print)
- Special instruction for
multiple travels into India:
Most visas issued are valid for multiple entries; however there should
be a gap of at least 2 months in between two visits when traveling on a
tourist visa. If you must travel back to India in less than 2 months,
an application for Re-entry permit is necessary.
- To
apply for the Re-entry permit you will need to submit the following
information in addition to the usual requirements indicated above:
- One fully completed application form online -click on the application

- Support letter: Your letter must indicate the following two points:
- 1-
The letter should indicate the urgency and the purpose of the trip such
as meeting friends/family or sightseeing or others (must specify)
- 2- The applicant
should not be involved in any business activities or study etc.
- Re-Entry Exemption Form: One
form fully completed and signed by the applicant.
- Re-entry
permit fee as indicated under Fees below is payable in addition to the
regular visa fee.
Business Visa
- Original, signed U.S. passport

Born: Only birth certificates are
accepted for applicants born in the US.
- Indian
Born: Those born in India can use their
birth certificate, old Indian passport or school leaving certificate.

Others:
Those not born in the US or India should submit a birth certificate or
any government document from the country of origin that has parents
name, date of birth and nationality.
- Copy of marriage license only if your
passport shows your maiden name and you are applying for a visa under

- A clear photocopy of Driver's License, or a major
utility bill, as proof of residence in the Embassy's area of
jurisdiction DC, DE, KY, MD, NC, SC, TN, VA, WV

company letter(SAMPLE) typed on your stationery
addressed to the Visa Section of the Embassy of India stating the
following:
- The reason for your
travel and type of business to be performed
- The name of the company
and/or individual(s) to be visited
- Must
indicate visa validity required i.e. 6 months, 1 year, 5 years or 10
years; this should correspond to question #25 on your application
- Guarantee sufficient
financial support for the visit
- Guarantee of financial
responsibility as well as return transportation to the USA.
- The business letter
should be signed by a company officer other than the applicant
- A
letter of invitation from the sponsoring company in India typed on
company letterhead stating nature of applicant's business, probable
duratio of stay, state the validity of visa applied for (1 year, 5 or
10 year), places and organizations to be visited and also a guarantee
to meet maintenance expenses etc. This letter can be emailed or faxed.
Conference
Visa
- The documents
listed above for the Business
Visa, plus:
- A copy of the invitation
from the conference organizer.
- Letter(s) of Invitation:
1. A letter of invitation from the conference chair or organizer. 2. A
letter of invitation from the organization in the U.S. that endorses
the applicant's attendance at the conference. If the conference is being
organized by private organizations in india then a three month single
business visa will suffice.
- If the conference is
organized by India's government you will be required to procure an
invitation to the conference by a Ministry or Department of the Indian
government, Public Sector, Educational Institution, State Government,
Public University, the United Nations or it's agencies (or reputable
non-governmental organizations).
- A clearance letter from
the Ministry of External Affairs
- A clearance letter from
the Ministry of Home Affairs
- A clearance letter from
of Union Territory/State Government Clearance.
- A clearance letter from
the Nodal Ministry Clearance that holds jurisdiction over the
conference. (ie; a scholarly conference will need clearance from the
Ministry of Education)
Please Note: A 72 hour withdrawal notice is needed (with or without a visa) to reobtain your passport from the Indian embassy.

A-1 Service Fee:

note that visa processing time may vary depending on the embassy's
workload. At this time the processing time for US passport holders is
around 3-5 business days.

Additional Notes:
For expedited processing of 24-48 hours,
an additional service fee of $30 is payable. Availability of the
service is always at the embassy's discretion depending on their work
load.
The validity of the visa is at the
embassy's discretion. If the applicant's request for 5 or 10 year visa
is denied, the embassy may issue a one year visa and additional fee
paid to the embassy of India is not refundable by the embassy or by our
company.
Non
US citizens applying for a tourist or business visa are subject to $20
(none refundable) reference fee, in addition to the visa processing fee
above.

A-1 Service Fee, Embassy Consular Fee, and return Shipping Fee.
