U.S. citizens staying less than three months in New Zealand do not require a visa. A visa is required for a stay from three to six months.
Tourist Visa
- Original, signed U.S. passport - must be valid for atleast 6 months containing at least 1 blank visa page.
- Completed Order Form (A-1 request for passport/visa)
- 1 fully completed and signed Visa Application Form
- 1 Passport type photograph
- Evidence of legal residence in U.S.A. (Notarized copy of alien registration card, or original)
- Copy of round trip airline tickets or itinerary
- Proof of sufficient funds for support in New Zealand (ie: Copy of most recent bank statement or letter of reference from bank showing at least NZ$1000 for each month of the stay.)
Business Visa
- Original, signed U.S. passport - must be valid for atleast 6 months containing at least 1 blank visa page.
- Completed Order Form (A-1 request for passport/visa)
- 1 fully completed and signed Visa Application Form
- 1 Passport type photograph
- Evidence of legal residence in U.S.A. (Notarized copy of alien registration card, or original)
- Copy of round trip airline tickets or itinerary
- A company letter(Sample) of intent and financial responsibility typed on the company's stationery stating the following:
- Purpose and date of travel and duration of stay.
- Name and address of the contacts/company to be visited and nature of the business.
- Financial responsibility for the applicant as well as return transportation to U.S.
- This letter must be signed by a superior within your company other than the applicant
- Your letter must be addressed to:
Embassy of New Zealand, Visa Section, Washington D.C.

Include credit card authorization, a check or money order payable to "A-1 Passport & Visa Express " for A-1 handling fee per visa, plus Embassy Consular Fee per visa, and return postage or Shipping Fee.

- $19.50 - Fed Ex Letter (Priority Overnight – up to three passports delivered next day)
- $23.50 – Fed Ex Letter (Priority Overnight – 3-5 passports delivered next day)
- $35.00 – Fed Ex Letter (Saturday Delivery)
