You are in possession of a current U.S. passport having Limited Validity which was issued to you within the last 12 months (exactly). If not then please use our Passport Renewal Guide.
Your passport may have been issued with Limited Validity because you had inadequate evidence of identity or proof of citizenship when you applied for your passport originally or had your passport lost or stolen and replaced it outside of the United States.

Submit Valid U.S. Passport (photocopies are not acceptable) Be certain your passport is not excessively worn or damaged, If so, you may want to apply for a first time passport.

Provide Proof of U.S. Citizenship (One of the below)
Compose a letter addressed to the U.S. State Department requesting that you want your current passport to be extended to its legal tenure. If approved this period will be up to 10 years from the date the passport was originally issued.

Confirmed itinerary, copy of airline ticket, or a letter from your company printed on your stationery addressed to Washington passport agency introducing the applicant, stating the date and country of travel, requesting issuance of a new passport prior to your travel date.

Important Notice: In case of emergency, when your passport must be processed in 1-2 days, you must call our office for special instruction. Your Fed Ex package should be marked "FIRST AM DELIVERY". You must clearly indicate "DELIVER AFTER 7AM. - PLEASE SLIDE UNDER THE DOOR. Our building opens automatically at 7am; the Fed Ex driver will not be able to enter the building before that time.
